“Paris is not France and France is not Paris”. Deep in “the other France” is the hamlet of Couyssel consisting of a XII century chateau and 5 nearby houses. A short distance away, on a wooded bluff, surrounded by 22 acres of land is La Taupe and its meticulously restored and decorated historic stone Pigeonnier. This ancient stone Pigeonnier has been restored as a romantic guest house for one or two couples consisting of 2 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, a fully equiped kitchen/breakfast room, a dining room seating 6 and a sitting room with a wood burning fireplace. There is an 18 meter heated mosaic pool at La Taupe with several places, in a walled garden, to dine while chasing the sun or the shade. The Pigeonnier also has an al fresco patio lounging area.
The place is a perfect “base camp” from which to explore the magic of the ancient Quercy Blanc region or an ideal venue for some serious rest and recreation by the pool. If you prefer an active holiday it is all nearby to enjoy but far enough not to disturb you.
