La Balayrie has been a labour of love for over 17 years, but we now would like to share its charm and tranquility with fellow lovers of the French way of life.
Set in the Lower Normandy countryside it has lovely rural views. Restored to its former glory, with a wealth of beams, granite and space.
The house is split into two, so could be enjoyed by a couple or two families (it can sleep 8 comfortably). An interconnecting door divides the old stone house from the newly converted barn. There are two bathrooms and two well equipped kitchens. Equipment includes dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, as well as the usual appliances you would expect.. Central heating, wood burner and TV/DVDs – either French or English TV can be watched, CD player, many books, games, toys etc. so it is very homely whatever the weather.
A travel cot and highchair are available. The large garden is surrounded by farmland, but has a BBQ, patio areas and garden furniture.
The house is one hour from the port of Ouistreham, (Caen) and is surrounded by many places of interests, from Chateaux to forests, gardens, walks, 2nd World War sites, cheese, cider routes, markets and activities to satisfy most interests. See our web site with more details. Prices range from £250 -£450 per week depending on occupancy and time of year. Linen and towels are included. Local English ‘caretakers’.
