Normandy gites and cottages to rent: Brittany
The long and rugged coastline makes renting a gite in Brittany a popular summer holiday for many families. Brittany is almost entirely surrounded by the sea, with some of the best surfing waves in France. Brittany is divided into four Departments: Finistere to the west, Cotes-d'Armor the north, Ille-et-Vilaine the east, and Morbihan to the south on the Bay of Biscay.

Further to the west and on the very tip of the Breton peninsular, there is a variety of Finistere gites to choose from, all set in idyllic countryside where the Breton language is still widely spoken.
Agriculture is an important part of this region's economy. Apple orchards are almost everywhere, ensuring a great supply of rustic cider. The lush, green countryside and the farm buildings with plenty of rural charm, and the many historic towns and villages that still show obvious signs of celtic influences, today make for a wonderful array of holiday gites in Brittany, many with private pools.
